Local Lebanon resident, Kathy Jones, was recently presented the Academic Achievement Award from Mid-Continent University. Mid-Continent honors the student graduating with the highest grade point average with this award.
Jones said, “My journey through college has been one of many challenges, but with determination, a great support network, and God’s helping hand, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Graduating from college has been a lifelong dream, and I am humbled and honored to receive the academic achievement award.”

On Saturday, May 4, 2013, University of the Cumberlands (UC) announced that William Grant and Matthew Thomas, both of Lebanon, graduated during their annual commencement ceremony. Grant received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Thomas received a Master of Arts in Education degree in instructional leadership principal all G.
The University conferred 536 total degrees during the commencement ceremony making it the largest graduating class in UC’s history.
