  • 2014 heroes for the American Red Cross

    Community grass roots fundraiser to support the mission of the American Red Cross: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

    Campaign kick-off is Thursday, Feb 20, 2014, 12:00 noon, My Old Kentucky Home Country Club.

  • Lady Knights fall in overtime

    The Marion County Lady Knights entered the fray guns blazing as they opened a double header against the visiting North Hardin Trojans on Feb. 16. Marion County fell to the Trojans 65-59 in overtime.
    “It turned out to be a great game between two competitive teams,” Lady Knights Coach Anthony Epps said in an email after the game. “I like the way our team battled, and you have to give North credit for battling as well.”

  • Marion County to host girls district tourney

    The 20th District tournament is just a week away, and the games will be played at the Roby Dome.
    Campbellsville was originally set to host this year’s tournament, but a broken water pipe forced the tournament to be moved.
    On Feb. 25, the Lady Knights will begin their fight by hosting the Campbellsville Lady Eagles (3-21). It will be the third time the teams have met this season. The Lady Knights crushed the Lady Eagles 67-17 and 58-18 in both prior games.

  • Aquaknights swim in regional meet

    The Marion County Aquaknights swam at their regional meet at Elizabethtown High School on Feb. 16.
    The girls 200 yard medley relay team and the boys 400 yard freestyle relay team turned in Marion County’s best performances of the meet. Both finished 13th.
    The girls 200 yard medley relay finish their race in 2:15.98. Sophomore Laua Rice, eighth grader Andy O’Daniel, junior Lindsey Buckman, and sophomore Chelsie Wright swam that race for Marion County.
