    The following Bethlehem High School students from Marion County have been named to the honor roll for the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
     “All A” Honor Roll

  • New student registration will take place on Jan. 27

    School registration for children who will be entering school in Marion County Public Schools for the first time in the fall of 2012 will be conducted at all elementary school centers on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 from 12-6 p.m.
    Children who will be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2012 should register for kindergarten classes.  Students who are in the four-year-old program during the 2011-2012 school year should register for kindergarten.

    Movie night
    Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 243 Logan Hill Road, Gravel Switch, will have a free movie night with snacks beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28 with drop off at 5:30 p.m. Snacks will be provided. The movie will be Dolphin Tales. For more information call Linda Burke at (859) 332-0201.

  • Mills attends ag leaders summit

    State Representative Terry Mills, D-Lebanon, attended a national summit of agricultural and rural leaders from across the United States. The Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit was held in Washington D.C.
    At the White House, summit participants met with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and officials involved with farm services, rural development, food safety, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. They also discussed international agricultural trade with Dr. Issi Siddiqui, the  U.S. Trade Representative for Agriculture.
