  • Missing woman has been located

    A Lebanon woman who was reported missing has been found.

    Stephanie Hayes Keeling, 37, was located in Palm Beach, Florida. Monday morning, the Marion County Sheriff's Office was able to contact Keeling at a residence in Palm Beach.

    Members of her family were able to speak with her and verified her location. They reported that she is OK, according to the sheriff's office.

  • Lebanon man dies after shooting incident involving state police

     A Lebanon man died after a shooting involving a Kentucky State Trooper Friday morning.

    Joey Livers, 38, of Lebanon was pronounced dead at 10:29 a.m. May 16 at Spring View Hospital, where he was transported after the shooting incident.

    The Marion County Sheriff's Office received a call Friday morning reporting a suicidal subject at a residence in the 8000 block of St. Joe Road. The Kentucky State Police were contacted at 9:09 a.m., and KSP units arrived on the scene at 9:32 a.m.

    State troopers reported that shots were fired at 9:39 a.m.

  • Fiscal court meets this afternoon

    The Marion County Fiscal Court is scheduled to meet in regular session at 4 p.m. May 15 on the second floor of the David R. Hourigan Government Building.

    The agenda includes the following: 

    • Minutes of the previous meeting

    • Audit report by White and Co. for FY ending June 30, 2013

    • Request for support for Senior Companion Program through Central Kentucky Community Action

  • Flash flood watch in effect until 8 a.m. Thursday

     The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until 8 a.m. May 15 for Central Kentucky, including Marion County.

    "Excessive rainfall" is likely this evening and overnight as "waves of thunderstorms" move across the area, according to the weather service. The storms could produce rainfall between two and four inches.

  • Dean’s, president’s lists announced

    St. Catharine College recently announced the list of students who have achieved extraordinary academic success for the Spring 2014 semester.
    The dean’s list includes all students who had a grade point average of 3.6 - 3.999.
    The following students from Marion County were recognized for their academic achievement: Cassie Clark, Emily Fenwick, Haley Gorley, Jordan Hayes, Kelly Hays, Ellie Marzola, Grace Mills, Martha Raley, and Sheryl Spurlock.
