  • Art students win several awards at region

    Marion County High School art students recently competed in the Caveland Regional Art Competition with seven other high schools. Competing schools include Taylor, Washington, South Warren, Warren Central, Adair and Grayson County high schools.
    Marion County earned seven awards, including three students’ works that will be advancing to state competition.
    The following students received awards:
    • Emily Clark, first place, ceramics
    • Johanna Leake, first place, painting and third place, printmaking

  • Tech center offers opportunities for students

    As students begin to think about scheduling for the next school year, parents and high school students should consider the programs at the Marion County Area Technology Center.  The primary goal of the MCATC is to enhance career exploration options for secondary students and to provide technical skills training that lead to successful post high school transition.  Students are provided the opportunity for transition into advanced programs, development of employability, readiness and leadership skills while incorporating practical application of academic skills.

  • Scholarships available to high school students

    • Central Kentucky Community Action will again offer educational awards for graduating high school seniors and GED recipients in our eight county service area.
    These educational awards will be given in the form of Scholarships to assist with tuition while attending a four-year college, a two-year college, or a technical school.

  • Nelson and Bale exchange vows

     

    Cindy Nelson and Hollis Bale of Campbellsville were married on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Saloma Baptist Church during a private ceremony. Bro. John Chowning officiated.
    Nelson is the daughter of Harold and Frances Waymon of Elk Horn. She is employed at Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.
    Bale is the son of Jean Bale of Summersville and the late Howard Bale. He is employed at Lowe’s.
    Jessica Hedgespeth was matron of honor. Megan McKinney was the attendant.
    After a short honeymoon trip, the couple is living in Campbellsville.
