  • Farms to Food Banks receives $20,000

    More than 750,000 people in Kentucky do not always know where they will find their next meal, according to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization.
    To aid in the effort to alleviate at least some of that hunger, Farm Credit Mid-America has awarded a $20,000 grant to the Kentucky Association of Food Banks in support of the Farms to Food Banks program. Farm Credit Mid-America is an agriculture lending cooperative serving farmers, agribusinesses and rural residents throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

  • Sandusky receives $1,000 scholarship from National FFA Organization

    The National FFA Organization awarded a $1000 Tractor Supply-Growing Scholars scholarship to Michael Sandusky of the Marion County High School FFA. The scholarship is sponsored by Tractor Supply Company as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. Sandusky plans to use the funds to pursue a degree at the University of Kentucky.
    This scholarship is one of 1,645 awarded through the National FFA Organization’s scholarship program this year. Currently, 127 sponsors contribute more than $2.1 million to support scholarships for students.
