  • Boys have strong week

    Saturday, the Marion County Knights tennis team traveled to Elizabethtown to compete in the regional tournament. Both Alex Spalding and Ryker Cassidy won their matches, allowing them to move on to the second round of the regional tournament.
    In singles action, Alex Spalding defeated his Bardstown opponent, Spencer Smith, in two sets (6-0) and (6-0). Ryker Cassidy won his match in two sets (6-0) and (6-0) against Jackson Thompson of Nelson County.  

  • Knights even record

    The Marion County Knights baseball team traveled to Pulaski County Friday night to take part in the Scott McAninch Memorial Tournament, playing Russell County in the first game. Due to rain, the remainder of the tournament on Saturday was canceled. In this game, Marion County lost 9-5, putting their overall record at 10-10 for the season thus far.

  • Team places third in conference


    Thursday evening, the Marion County boys and girls track teams competed in the Heartland Athletic Conference track meet at LaRue County High School. Both teams finished in third place and each had some strong individual showings.

  • Lady Knights invited to NIKE tourney


    The Marion County Lady Knights basketball team is scheduled to travel to Phoenix, Ariz., Dec. 18-22 to participate in the NIKE Tournament of Champions.
    The Marion County Board of Education approved the tournament request during its monthly meeting last week.
    To attend this event, the members of the Lady Knights basketball team will have to raise their own money, and no money from the high school will be used to fund this trip.
    “We will raise around $15,000 towards this tournament,” Head Coach Trent Milby said.

  • Sapp and Lewis will marry June 4

     

    Tammy Sapp of Lebanon announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Brittianey Sapp, to Tommy Lewis, son of Elizabeth Lewis of Lebanon and the late Bobby Lewis.

    Sapp is a 2010 graduate of Empire Beauty School in Elizabethtown. She is owner and operator of Twisted Shears in Lebanon.

    Lewis is employed at Curtis Maruyasu America.

    The wedding is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. A reception will follow at St. Joe Community Center.
