    Bradfordsville United Methodist Church will hold their revival Wednesday, July 9 through Sunday July 13. Bro. Dan Frederick of Frederick Ministries will be the speaker each night. There will be special music each night. Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Sunday service will be at 11 a.m. with a potluck meal after the service.

    Inches from the ground, asphalt grinds like a raging belt sander. The sound of rubber rolling on the pavement lets out a dry roar, and the only thing keeping the driver’s butt from meeting the road at 35 miles per hour are four slim tires, a wood floor, and a thin plastic shell that was prefabricated and assembled in a garage. 

  • KSP participates in coordinated effort to lock up child predators

    Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task forces around the country, including  the Kentucky State Police, launched “Operation Broken Heart” on May 1, a coordinated strike by law enforcement representing more than 3,000 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies--with the sole purpose of arresting as many child predators as possible.

    The annual Gravel Switch reunion will be held Sunday, July 13 at the Gravel Switch Community Center. Meal will start at 1 p.m. Meal is potluck.

    Avery Caroline Clark and Adalyn Nicole Clark celebrated their first birthday on June 23, 2014. Their parents are Jason and Amber Clark.
    Maternal grandparents are Rick and Juan Downs. Paternal grandparents are Tim Clark and Mary Jo Clark. Great-grandparents are Doyle and Doris Downs, Bob and Alice Clark, Charles Elder and Mary Lee Price.

  • Puddle Jumpers are ready

     While I’m thinking about it, a few weeks ago, in response to requests made, we changed our Puddle Jumper rules to allow any boat to be used. The only stipulation is that a gas engine cannot be attached to the boat. Other rules remain as stated.

    So, for those of you who wanted to fish the Puddle Jumpers, where are you?

    Our next Puddle Jumper tournament will be Saturday, July 19, on McDougal Lake in Larue County. Launch time will be at 6 a.m. with a noon weigh-in.

     The Marion County High School cheerleaders are working hard this summer to prepare for the upcoming season. They recently participated in a stunt clinic with former UK cheerleader Corey Brown. The cheerleaders are also doing yoga with Jennifer Lawson and cardio with Autria Calhoun each week.
