  • Lady Knights beat Hart County by 28

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity girls basketball team hosted the Hart County Lady Raiders at the Roby Dome Monday of last week. After a bit of a sluggish first quarter, the Lady Knights picked up the pace and took control of the game. Sophomore Makayla Epps poured in a game high 26 points in route to the Marion County victory with a final score of 62-34.

  • Knights win thriller; clinch No. 1 district seed

    The Marion County Knights varsity boys basketball team hosted the Taylor County Cardinals Friday night at the Roby Dome in front of what may have been the biggest and most supportive crowd to see a ballgame recently. All fans were asked to wear white to the game to make the effect of a “white-out.”

  • It’s time to control fruit diseases

     

     

    Winter, believe it or not, is a good time to prepare fruiting crops for the season ahead.

    On the next warm day it is very important for us to get some work done to insure a nice fruity harvest this summer. Many fruit diseases can be partially controlled by being vigilant with cleanup and fungicidal sprays at proper times.

    Also, remember pruning should take place in late February on fruiting trees.

    Sunday, Jan. 30

    - Lone Star Equities of Corporate Drive in Lexington reported a burglary at Gold Star Buffet located in the Lebanon Trade Center. No additional information was reported about the burglary.

     

    Friday, Feb. 4

    - Stanley Williams Sr. of West High Street in Lebanon reported an arson. According to the Lebanon Police Department’s media release, the rear west side of his residence was set on fire with an accelerant. The investigation into the arson is ongoing.

    Tonight the Lady Knight’s JV team will be hosting the 20th district freshman tournament. Marion County will play in the second game of the night with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The championship game will be played following that game, and is scheduled to start at approximately 8 p.m.
