  • This week is National Farm Safety and Health Week

    The week of September 16-20 is National Farm Safety and Health Week. It’s harvest time across much of America. With more work to do on the farms there’s more risk too.
    This year’s Farm Safety and Health Week, like all the observances, is a friendly reminder that farmers can take steps to keep themselves, their families and their communities safe. Safe practices on farms also lead to safer and healthier rural communities.

    Wednesday, Sept. 26: Baked pork ham, baked beans, cauliflower w/cheese, roll, pineapple slices.
    Thursday, Sept. 27: Stuffed green pepper, mashed potatoes, corn, roll, peaches.
    Friday, Sept. 28: BBQ pork, Brussel sprouts, tossed salad, roll, baked apples and raisins w/granola topping.

  • Clark and Martin will marry Oct. 27


    John and Gloria Masterson of Lebanon and Mike Clark of Shepherdsville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Trina Renee Clark, to David James Martin, son of Donna Martin of Godfrey, Ill.
    Clark is a graduate of St. Catharine College and employed with Total System Services, Inc. of Columbus, Ga.
    Martin is in the United States Army and is stationed at Fort Benning, Ga.
    A private ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27, 2012, in Fort Benning, Ga.
    Invitations will be sent.

  • New student council members are announced

    Marion County High School’s student council members have been named for the 2012-13 academic year.
    They are as follows: President Hannah Wilson, Vice President Charles Shofner, and Secretary Madison Avritt.
    Junior members are: Brooklyn Russell, Dylan Tungate, Nicole Mattingly, and Sarah Morris.
    Sophomore members are: Alex Espinosa, Stephanie Farmer, and Taylor Scott.
    Freshmen members are: D.J. Price, John David May, and Justin Overstreet.
