    Women’s Conference
    Springfield Baptist Church will be hosting a Women’s Conference ‘Renew Your Strength’ from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be a continental breakfast and lunch served. It will be a day of fellowship with guest speaker Jessica Castenir, music by Kindred Spirit. Call Springfield Baptist Church at (859) 336-3544 for reservations by March 16 due to preparation.

  • Valley View Drive man gets probation for drug trafficking

    Donnaire Javier Adams, 23, of 215 Valley View Drive in Lebanon received three years of probation for second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (two counts) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, $350 court costs, $300 restitution with a $15 fee, $150 costs and $25 bond fee.

    In other court news:
    - Christopher D. Downs, 23, of 535 Spencer Hamilton Road in Loretto received 24 months of probation for second-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense.

    Messrs. Purdy & Co., Bradfordsville, have sold to Davy & Co., Paris, Ky., 754 barrels of whiskey, product of 1881 at forty-five cents per gallon.

  • 5K PROM-enade has been cancelled

    The 5K PROM-enade walk/run event, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 24, has been cancelled due to a lack of preregistered runners.

  • Baseball and Softball Teams in Action

    After the Knights baseball team split their opening two games of the season, they have done the same in the next two games.  The Knights picked up a win over Bardstown to open the season, but then fell to Danville in the following game.  The Knights improved to 2-1 on the year with a 7-2 win over Berea last Saturday.  On Monday night, the team hosted border rival Washington County and fell 5-4 to the Commanders.  After the loss to the Commanders, the team now has an overall record of 2-2 and will return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to John Hardin.
