    The United Presbyterian Church will be having Vacation Bible School on July 8-11 from 5:30-8 p.m. Son Creek Junction is a western themed Bible school with lots of fun activities.

  • 9-10 team wins the district

    The girls 9-10-year-old Marion County All-Stars will be making a trip to the state tournament in July 7-11 Winchester. The locals advanced to state competition after winning the district tournament championship game Thursday night against South Hardin 11-1. The All-Stars had gone 3-0 in pool play in the district tournament, defeating South Hardin, Washington County, and Russell County to move into the championship game.

  • 11-12 team takes second in district

    The girls' 11-12 year old Marion County All-Star team had two chances to advance to the state tournament, both games against Washington County.  The locals won their games earlier in the week against Russell County and Washington County to reach championship round undefeated in the double-elimination tournament. However, the Marion County All-Stars fell to Washington County last Thursday and Friday night, ending their chance at advancing to state competition in Winchester.

  • Big Blue Nation

    As I have previously discussed, Jessica and I are members of the Big Blue Nation and watch every Wildcat game that we possibly can. Also, if you remember, Jessica's uncle Bobby Joe Farmer was a subject of a column previously on the same topic. We are proud of our team, and recently the rest of the country found out why we thought this past season's squad was one of the best.

  • Games participates in state golf tournament

    Former Marion County High School standout golfer Beverly Brockman Games recently completed play in the 86th Women's State Kentucky Golf Association State Amateur tournament held at the Elizabethtown Country Club.
    Games played in the championship flight, and faced off with some of the best golfers in the state.  
    In the opening round on Tuesday of last week, Games defeated Susan Stewart 2 & 1 to advance. The following day, Games took down April Butler 2 & 1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the championship bracket.
