    The Kentucky Corn Growers Association (KyCGA) has awarded three scholarships for students pursuing a degree or certificate in an agriculture-related field. Two scholarships for $1,000 were given to entering freshmen, and one $2,000 scholarship was given to a current college student.

  • Lady Knights capture Heartland Conference title

    The Marion County Lady Knights tennis team had an outstanding week of tennis, winning the Heartland Conference title on Monday of last week and beating John Hardin at home last Thursday.  The doubles team of sophomores Madison Cassidy and Elyssa Holt took the title of Heartland Conference doubles champions for the second year in a row, while teammate Olivia Thompson ended as the singles runner-up in the tournament.

  • Knights claim victory over North Hardin

    The Marion County Knights tennis team captured the Heartland Conference title and the victory over John Hardin with a week of spectacular play.
    Marion County’s No. 1 singles player, Alex Spalding, became the singles champion of the tournament while teammate Ryker Cassidy took the runner-up spot after losing to Spalding in the final round. Marion County’s No. 1 doubles team of Jacob Burdette and Noah Swencki cruised to an undefeated Heartland Conference doubles crown.

  • Knights split two games

    The Marion County Knights baseball team managed to squeeze in two games at the end of last week after a rash of rainouts early in the week. The Knights played Taylor County on Friday and Shelby County on Saturday, both at Hourigan Field.  Marion County came out of these two contests with a record of 1-1, taking their overall record to 7-8.

    The Marion County Lady Knights softball team was scheduled to play three games last week, all at Talley Field. However, due to rain, they were only able to get in one of those games.
