  • City council meets tonight

    The Lebanon City Council is scheduled to meet at 7 tonight, June 10, at city hall.

    The agenda includes the following:

    - Charles P. Neal to discuss street meets and tent revival

    - Minutes of previous council meetings

    - Payment of bills

    - Department reports

    - Old busines

    - Approval of the Lebanon Water Works annual budget

    - Approval of the tourism budget

    - Acceptance of liability insurance proposal

    - Acceptance of worker's compensation proposal

  • Trailer fire under investigation for possible arson

    A trailer fire Wednesday evening near the intersection of Clell Mattingly Road and Hwy. 527 is under investigation.

    "We kind of suspected it was arson. It has been reported to the state police," Raywick Fire Chief Herman Riggs said.

    The Lebanon Police Dispatch received a report of the fire at 8:16 p.m. June 5. The Raywick Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.

  • Fiscal court meets this afternoon

    The Marion County Fiscal Court is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 6, on the second floor of the David R. Hourigan Government Building.

    The agenda includes:

    - Minutes of the previous meeting

    - Second reading fo the 2012-13 budget ordinance

    - Approval of second payment to Marion County Economic Development Office for the 2012-13 fiscal year

    - Payment of NACo dues for 2013-14

    - Contract with Marion County Board of Education for use of the shop building/21st Century learning center

  • Seniors are recognized at annual awards night

    Marion County High School held their 38th Annual Senior Class Awards Night on May 22, 2013.  Following are a list of the recipients:
    • Civic Clubs/Local Awards
    American Legion Outstanding Senior: Mary Helen Hamilton.        
    Lebanon Rotary Club: All-Around Female Student Athlete - Kyvin Goodin-Rogers; All-Around Male Student Athlete - Michael Costello    ; Citizenship Award - Michael Sandusky.

  • Fenwick is recipient of $1,500 scholarship

    One Marion County student will find it a little easier to pay for his college tuition thanks to scholarships from McDonald’s Restaurants of Kentuckiana and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). In a ceremony held May 22, Joseph Fenwick of Lebanon was honored among 10 students awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,500.

  • Local students are awarded scholarships

    Michael Sandusky, Levi Haydon, Megan Lucas, Whitney Jo Smith and Courtney Flanagan, all seniors at Marion County High School, are recipients of a $500 college scholarship from Marion County Farm Bureau.  These awards are five of the 250 college scholarships worth a total of $337,300 the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation and individual county Farm Bureaus awarded this year to deserving students from across the Commonwealth.
