  • Local singer pursuing music career

    When Anne Marie Riney, 29, graduated from Marion County High School as the valedictorian of her class in 2005, she said she planned to make a career out of her voice.
    This month, she will release her first single, “BYE,” and she’s currently finishing her first album while living in The Music City - Nashville, Tennessee.
    “Good things take time,” Riney said. “It takes like 10 years to really break through the industry.”

    Mark and Ann Michelle Trailor of Lebanon announce the birth of an 8-pound son, Landon James Trailor, born May 30, 2016 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Richie and Mary Ann Yates of Lebanon. Paternal grandparents are P.J. and Charlene Trailor of Bradfordsville. Great-grandmothers are Josephine Jarboe and Joan Trailor, both of Lebanon.
    Landon James has a brother, Weston.

  • Bear travels through Marion County

    There have been several social media postings about a black bear being sighted throughout the Calvary area.
    Ashley Caldwell Morgan said she saw the bear in front of Calvary Church early last week around 8 p.m. She said she almost hit it as it crossed the road and went down the driveway toward her neighbor's house. She turned around, going back to her house to warn her children to go inside.

  • Sky is the limit for Marion County Beta

    Zachary Brady of Lebanon Middle School stood in front of almost 13,000 people at the National Junior Beta Convention in New Orleans. He wasn’t nervous. He had already introduced himself to a large number of students, telling them jokes, telling them to believe in the mythical creature known as the “Zachsquatch.”
    With a campaign that could rival the most popular politicians, Brady set himself apart from the rest who were vying for the position of national secretary.
