  • Sick of Wallen’s rhetoric

Just my opinion, but I am sick to death of seeing Elizabeth Wallen's rhetoric. Just sayin’. Her opinion of Trump is as nasty as Hillary's. Do we really need more nastiness in this presidential campaign? She is not making a point. She is making incendiary comments that are tiring to read.

  • Mother Nature

What's the ideal type of weather for you? Sunny and 75 degrees? Cloudy and a little cool? Snow, with a little more snow? No matter what the weather is, people will almost always wish the weather were different. If it's sunny and 75 degrees, perhaps they wish it weren't so dry. If it's a cloudy and cool, it needs to be warmer. I'm freezing, come on! If it's snowy, well, I'm really freezing!

  • GIRLS SOCCER: Lady Knights defeat Lady Eagles

The Marion County Lady Knights defeated the Fort Knox Lady Eagles 4-0 on Oct. 3 to record their third win of the season.
"It was a good confidence boost," Lady Knights Head Coach Daniel Johnson said. "It was good for my players to see they actually improved instead of me telling them in practice how much they have improved."

  • Woods and Waters: Number of young hunters decreasing for variety of reasons

One question asked by fish and wildlife agencies is, “Why is the number of young hunters decreasing?”
That seems to require a very involved answer. No place to hunt, no transportation, no mentor type to take them and, according to some kids, it’s boring - just to name a few reasons.
I can understand most of them. Unless you own land, are related to someone who’ll let you hunt or have landowning friends who’ll let you hunt, you’re pretty much out of luck.

  • Vaught’s Views: Kentucky coach John Calipari’s son is a freshman walk-on at UK

    By Larry Vaught

Having his son on the team could guarantee that Kentucky coach John Calipari will be at Kentucky the next four or five years. Or at least that is what Calipari recently told ESPN.
Brad Calipari is a freshman walk-on at UK and is excited about the opportunity to be part of the program he has become so enamored with since his father left Memphis for Lexington in 2009.
However, he has no idea what this year will be like basketball-wise.
