    Wednesday, Aug. 20: Hot beef sandwich, gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, congealed strawberry dessert, whole wheat bread.
    Thursday, Aug. 21: Closed
    Friday, Aug. 22: Honey glazed chicken, baked sweet potato, seasoned cabbage,  fruit cobbler, whole wheat bread.
     

  • Lady Knights soccer team looking forward

    After a grueling 6-12-3 season in 2013, the Lady Knights are preparing to go into battle with their new Coach Derek Cissell. 

    With their sights set high, the Lady Knights plan to take the district tournament as one of their goals this year. 

    “Every year that’s our number one goal,” Cissell said. 

    And, according to him, it’s obtainable.

    Lucy Abigail Bland celebrated her first birthday on July 17, 2014. Her parents are Brian and Amy Bland.
    Paternal grandmother is Jenny Bland of Lebanon. Maternal grandparents are Ed and Laurie Heckel of Lebanon and Charles Corder of Somerset. Maternal great-grandmother is Bette Lorenzen of Frankfort.
    Lucy Abigail has a sister, Andrea.

    The descendants of George Washington and Edna Robinson Abell will hold their annual potluck family reunion on Sunday, Aug. 17, at the V.F.W. clubhouse. Lunch will be served around 1 p.m. Bring enough food, drink, etc. for your family.

  • Hardesty and Downs will marry Aug. 30

     

    Joe and Debbie Williamson of Loretto announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Angela Hardesty, to Billy “Doodlebug” Downs, son of Betty Rose Downs and Billy Yantis, both of Bardstown.
    Hardesty is a graduate of Marion County High School. Downs is a graduate of Nelson County High School.
    The wedding will take place at 1 p.m., Aug. 30, 2014, at Bloomfield Second Baptist Church, 145 Hill Street, Bloomfield.
    All family and friends are invited to attend.

     For several years now Barb Batcher at the Enterprise has been taking care of me!

    Ya see, I write the old-school way … a legal pad and a No. 2 lead pencil. So, every week, after I finish writing my thousand words (give or take a few), I slide it through the slot at the Enterprise office.

  • New Lady Knights coach is ready to go

     On April 18, Lady Knights Coach Devin Johnson resigned to return to playing soccer at Kentucky Christian University while pursuing a degree in sports management.  

    After a long summer without word of who would take his place, the team has found its new leader, and he was there all along. 

    His name is Derek Cissell.

    Before being named coach, he was acting as a temporary coach to get the team together for seasonal play.

  • SCC wrestlers bond with trip to national park

     Wrestling is often thought of as an individual sport with a few team aspects interspersed within the sport. However, the St. Catharine Patriots made a leap toward making their new program a total team concept with a team bonding event at Mammoth Cave National Park recently.

     The team took to the road June 20 with 26 of their 43 signees to lodge at the Jellystone Camping Resort in order to prep for two days of team events.
