  • Freshman JumpStart date is Aug. 6

    Due to ongoing construction, Marion County High School will move the Freshman JumpStart date to Monday, Aug. 6. They want to maintain the full building experience of the JumpStart program, and feel like the building will be in much better condition on Monday, Aug. 6. Freshman registration will also be moved to Monday, Aug. 6.
    Registration schedules are as follows:
    • Monday, July 30 - seniors 3:30-6:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday, July 31 - juniors 3:30-6:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday, Aug. 1 - sophomores 3:30-6:30 p.m.

  • Skaggs makes president’s honor list

    Angela Marie Skaggs of Lebanon was recently added to Campbellsville University’s president’s honors list for the spring 2012 semester, according to an announcement from Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs at Campbellsville University.
    The academic honors’ list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours. Students achieving a 4.0 grade point average are named to the president’s honors list.
     

  • Coulters will celebrate anniversary Aug. 12

     

    Joe and Margie Coulter will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at The Springfield Inn from 2-4 p.m. They were married Aug. 14, 1937. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. They request no gifts.

  • Couple will be married 40 years on Aug. 11

     

    David and Melody Mays will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11, 2012. There will be a reception held in their honor on Sunday, August 5, at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church from 3-5 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    Adult Sunday School Class
    The community is invited to join the United Presbyterian Church for a new Adult Sunday School Class. Ellen Kessler will lead the eight-week class beginning in August. The class will use the book “The Bible for Dummies” by Jeffrey Geoghegan and Michael Homan. Books will not be provided for the class but can be purchased through amazon.com. The class will meet at 10 a.m. in the women’s parlor beginning on Sunday, Aug. 5. For more information contact the church at (270) 692-2551.
