    Joyce Marie Walker and Jackie Eugene Thompson were united in marriage on Oct. 14, 2011, in Louisville. Danny Maupin of New Covenant Church officiated the ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Earl and Myrtle Walker of Eminence.
    The groom is the son of Roy and Mary Thompson of Taylorsville.
    The couple will make their home in Louisville.

  • Blanford and Boblett will marry Nov. 12

    Rene Blanford and Matthew Boblett, both of Springfield, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Blanford is the daughter of Tanya and Mike McCance and Earl and Robin Blanford of Bardstown. She is a graduate of St. Catharine College and employed by Visiting Angels.
    Boblett is the son of Evelyn and Fred Boblett Jr of Springfield. He is a graduate of Washington County High School and employed at NSU Corporation.
    The wedding is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Holy Trinity Church.

    Great-grandmother is Betty Logsdon of Lebanon.

  • College will break ground on new Hundley Library Nov. 14

    After years in the planning stage and much anticipation, St. Catharine College will break ground on the new Emily W. Hundley Library and Center for Graduate Studies at 5 p.m. on Nov. 14. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. In addition to the new library and graduate school, the $8 million facility will also house classrooms, conference rooms, study areas and a café. St. Catharine College President, William D. Huston, said the new building will be the crown jewel of the campus and the center of student life at SCC.
