  • Soccer Knights drop final three games

    During the week of fall break, the Marion County Knights soccer team played in three games, two at home and one on the road. The team came up short in each of the three contests to finish the regular season with an overall record of 11-9-0.
    The Knights traveled to take on Bethlehem Tuesday of last week, and were defeated by a final score of 4-0. The game was very intense, according to Head Coach Greg Conley. Bethlehem was hosting their senior night activities at the game.

  • Lady Knights ready for the soccer postseason

    The Marion County Lady Knights soccer team was supposed to compete in two games last week during fall break. However, due to rain, the game on Monday of last week against Bardstown was cancelled and there will be no makeup game.  
    On Tuesday of last week, the Lady Knights went on the road to play Bethlehem.  Besides a breakaway goal by Lindsey Browning in the game, Marion County was dominated in every aspect of the game, with the final score being 11-1.  

  • Volleyball team closes season with a pair of wins

    The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team competed in two matches last week during Fall Break, playing both Pulaski County and Bardstown at the Roby Dome.  The Lady Knights were able to defeat Bardstown in three sets, and win against Pulaski County in four sets on Senior Night.  Marion County's overall record going into the district tournament was 28-6.

    The Marion County eight and under All-Star baseball team concluded its season participating in the Nelson County tournament on Aug. 25-26. They finished the tournament with the second place trophy.     Peyton Hughes, son of Sara A. Hughes, and the late SGT. Jonathan Adam Hughes, recently caught these turtles at a local pond in Springfield with the help of his Uncle Terry Harmon.
