    Spring View Hospital recently recognized its 2012 Mercy Award winner and its 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

  • First year of drug testing complete at MCHS

    A mere two percent of students who were randomly drug tested at Marion County High School failed during the 2011-12 school year, according to results released last week at the Marion County Board of Education meeting.

    "Even of the two percent that were identified, I don't think there were any surprises," Marion County Superintendent Chuck Hamilton said.

  • Off to nationals

    Paige Wilson, the 2012 Distinguished Young Woman of Kentucky, arrived in Mobile, Ala., Sunday to prepare for the Distinguished Young Woman National Finals, June 28-30. On Friday, family and friends held a send-off reception for Wilson at Lebanon Baptist Church.

  • Habitat for Humanity build begins Saturday

    Saturday is going to be a busy day in Marion County.

    Kentucky's first-ever Warrior Dash will take place on Popes Creek Road. The annual Dirt Bowl is scheduled to take place on Cleaver Court, and Chaser's is hosting a motorcycle rally and a car show.
