  • Nike Tournament of Champions

    The Marion County Lady Knights made the trip to Phoenix, Ariz., to take part in the Nike Tournament of Champions. Marion County played four games over four days against very high caliber opposition, many of whom were nationally ranked. The Lady Knights came away with two victories and two losses in the tournament.
    Marion County would open up play against the nation’s No. 4 ranked team, St. John’s College from Washington, D.C. After a close game, the Lady Knights were able to defeat the Lady Cadets by a final score of 56-52.

  • Lady Knights Win by 22

        Coming off a 2-2 run in the Nike Tournament of Champions, the Marion County Lady Knights started their second holiday tournament of the year.  Marion County played their first game of the Mercer County/Harrodsburg Tourism Titan Christmas Clash agasint Paul Laurence Dunbar.  After allowing Dunbar to stay in the game in the first half, the Lady Knights pulled away in the second half and put the game out of reach.  With the win, Marion County will face Lincoln County tomorrow at 6:30 P.M. at Mercer County Senior High School.

     

  • Knights set to face Danville

         The Knights of Marion County prepare to take part in their second holiday tournament.  Marion County will face off with the Danville Admirals in the final game of the opening day.  The game is set to tip-off at 8:30 P.M.  If the Knights win against the Admirals, they will face the winner of the Covington Holmes/Doss matchup Thursday night at 8:30 P.M., but if they lose they will face the loser of that matchup Thursday at 4:00 P.M.

  • Lady Knights set to play tomorrow

         The Lady Knights are set to begin their quest for the title in the Mercer County/Harrodsburg Tourism Titan Christmas Clash on December 27th, when they face Paul Laurence Dunbar at 2:30 P.M. in the opening round.  The toughest matchup for Marion County may come in their first round match-up as the Lady Bulldogs are ranked as the 13th team in the state, according to maxpreps.com.  On that same poll, the Lady Knights are ranked just ahead of DuPont Manual for the number 1 spot in the state rankings.

  • Knights Drop Final Game in Ft. Harrod Classic

  • Knights Pick up Win in Ft. Harrod Classic

         In their third of four games in the Fort Harrod Classic, the Marion County Knights picked up a victory over the Greenup County Musketeers.  After a slow start, the Knights picked up the pace and pulled away for the double-digit win.  The Knights will play their final game of the classic tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 P.M. against the hosting Mercer County Titans in the 9th grade gym.

  • Lady Knights win final game at Nike Tournament of Champions

         In the Lady Knights final game in Phoenix, Arizona as part of the Nike Tournament of Champions, they came away victorious over the Lady Panthers of Dr. Phillips from Orlando, Florida.  The game was close throughout, but the Lady Knights were able to secure the two point victory to improve to 2-2 over the four game stretch.

  • Knights Fall in Close Contest

         The Marion County Knights were defeated in their second game of the Ft. Harrod Classic in Harrodsburg.  The Yellow Jackets of Woodford County were able to connect on key free throws down the stretch and give the Knights back-to-back losses for the first time this season.  Over the final 5:56 of the game, the Knights failed to score and only connected on 3-8 field goals in the final quarter to lose a close one, 57-51.  The Knights are set to face Greenup County at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday morning in the 9th grade gym.

     

  • Lady Knights Defeated

         On Wednesday afternoon, the Lady Knights played their third of four games in the Nike Tournament of Champions.  The Lady Monarchs of Mater Dei jumped out to an early lead and the Lady Knights were unable to recover.  Marion County will play tomorrow night at 6:00 P.M. MST (8:00 P.M. EST) against Dr. Phillips, a team from Orlando, FL.  The Lady Panthers are currently ranked at #9 in the national polls, and finished last season 34-2.

     

  • No trash pick up on Presidents Day, Feb. 17

    Some Marion County government offices and services will be affected the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 17.
    No garbage pick-up will take place Feb. 17. Instead, a double pick-up will take place Tuesday, Feb. 18. As a result, county residents are asked to put their trash out earlier than usual on that day.
    However, the Marion County Clerk's Office, the Circuit Clerk's Office, the PVA Office and Sheriff's Office will be open Monday, Feb. 17.
