    Gospel concert
    The 2012 Rosenwald Reunion Committee will be holding a gospel concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the First Baptist Church located on Depot Street. Featured singers will be the voices of First Baptist Church of Lebanon, Johnson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Josephine Sickles of Springfield, Smith Sisters of Campbellsville, William P. Dunigan of Frankfort and several others.

    AG  Development
    There will be an AG Development Council meeting at 7 p.m., June 14, at the Marion County Extension Office. For more information, call the extension office or contact Harry Young.
     
    Beef producers
    There will be a beef producers meeting at 7 p.m., June 14, at the Floral Hall Building on the Marion County Fairgrounds. At this meeting there will be sign-ups for working at the 2012 Marion County Fair and for the fall trip.

  • MCHS baseball awards presented at banquet

    The Marion County High School baseball team held their postseason annual awards banquet on June 5. 

    Several members of the team were recognized for their performances on the field during the season. 

    Dylan Spalding was awarded the most valuable player along with the most valuable pitcher. 

    The freshman award went to Jeremy Morris while the junior varsity award went to Robbie Spalding. 

  • Local All-Star

    Former Marion County Lady Knight basketball standout Bre Elder joined the Kentucky Girls All-Stars in a two-game sweep of the Indiana Girls All-Stars over the weekend.

    The teams played Friday at Freedom Hall in Louisville and again Saturday at the Bankers Life Fieldhous in Indianapolis.

    Friday, the Kentucky girls won 75-47 in the first game of the 2012 Kentucky vs. Indiana All-Star Classic.
