    Kyrissa NaMiya Spalding celebrated her 1st birthday July 14, 2012. She is the daughter of Tray and Nicole Spalding of Lebanon.
    Grandparents are Sharon Martinez of Lebanon and Felicia Spalding of Springfield.
    She has two sisters, Taliya and Ariyana Spalding.

    Daniel and Holly Miles of Bardstown announce the birth of an 8-pound, 11-ounce daughter, Peyton Elizabeth Miles, born June 29, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown.
    Maternal grandparents are Billy and Gail Downs of Bardstown. Paternal grandparents are Danny and Sue Miles of Loretto. Great-grandparents are Carla Mae Sims of Loretto and the late Norman Sims, Helen Downs of Bardstown and the late Herbie Downs, the late Julian and Naomi Nalley and the late Paul Miles and Leona Jackson.

  • Lanhams celebrate 60 years

     

    Gene and Montrude Lanham will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Gravel Switch Community Center from 2-5 p.m.
    They were married Aug. 1, 1952, by Rev. Edward Hamm in Junction City.
    The reception will be hosted by their daughters, Sandy O’Brien, Terry Williams and Kay Johnson.
    All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend.

  • Reading program expands to include meal

    This summer, thanks to the Marion County Public Library’s Read and Feed program, children are enriching their bodies along with their minds.
    The Read and Feed initiative expands the library’s Summer Reading program through collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE) Summer Food Service Program. The goal of Read and Feed is to provide free meals during the 2012 summer break along with literacy programming to keep school-age children, 18 and younger, nourished and learning while on vacation.
