  • Knights looking for good net play

    The Marion County Knights and Lady Knights tennis teams are looking forward to their seasons.
    “I am optimistic about the upcoming season as we return many of the players from last year’s regional championship team,” second year boys coach Landon Williams said. “Because of last year’s success, we will have several opportunities throughout the regular season to match up with the top talent in the state. As long as we don’t get discouraged, the schedule will help us improve and get after some people during the regional tournament.”

  • LMS archers heading to state tournament

    The Lebanon Middle School Archery Team participated in the regional tournament Saturday, March 2. Two members will advance to the state tournament in individual competition on March 18. Brandon Lee placed first for overall score ,and Kate Cobb placed second in the girls.

    The first bass tournament of the season is coming up in a few weeks on March 24, but it’s time to get ready. Come the Cabin Fever Open on Fagan Branch we’ll all be ready or at least should be ready.

    That’s Ezra Glasscock’s very own motto. And he lives by those words everyday.
    The Marion County High School Lady Knights basketball manager has overcome some major obstacles in his life, but has accomplished everything he has set his mind to. Glasscock has persevered through a stroke, severe seizures, a major brain surgery, and lifelong limited use of the left side of his body.

  • Lady Knights making their fourth straight trip to Sweet 16

    The Marion County Lady Knights made history last week by becoming the first team, boys or girls, to win four straight 5th Region titles.
    The Lady Knights defeated LaRue County in the championship game, which was played at Green County High School, by a final score of 82-60.

  • Lebanon City County, tourist commission both meet today

    The Lebanon City Council and the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission are both scheduled to meet in regular session today, March 11.

    The city council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at city hall.

    The city council's agenda includes the following:

    - A report from Marion County Economic Development Director Tom Lund

    - An audit report from Rick Downs, CPA, PSC

    - Minutes of the previous meeting

    - Payment of bills

    - Department reports

    - Old and new business

  • Today is Andy Colley Day in Marion County

    Local radio personality Andy Colley will soon be getting married and moving to Richmond. In recognition of his years of service in the community, the Marion County Fiscal Court has issued a proclamation declaring today, March 8, as Andy Colley Day.

    Today is also Colley’s final day working at MIKE 100.9 FM WLSK and 1590 AM WLBN.  The proclamation notes that Colley has become a fixture in local radio stations.
