    Marion County was scheduled to play in a varsity baseball tournament at North Hardin today, April 16.

    That tournament has been cancelled.

  • Strong winds cause damage

    Steve VanDyke was watching a movie on the SyFy Channel when a big wind interrupted his program. "I said, 'It sounded like the roof blew off,'" he said. "[Joyce, his wife] went outside. She said, 'It did.'"
    VanDyke was inside his business, Lebanon Pawn and Gun, 139 Cemetery Road, when the storm blew through Lebanon. He compared the sound to a freight train.
    "It just sounded like somebody stomping on tin, tin rattling," he said.

  • JV baseball game at Anderson County has been cancelled

    The Marion County High School junior varsity baseball team was scheduled to play at Anderson County tonight, April 15, but that game has been cancelled.

  • KSP investigating murder of 22-year-old

    No arrests have been made in connection with the death of a Loretto man who was killed Wednesday. However, the Kentucky State Police have spoken with the victim's girlfriend, and a Bardstown man has spoken with the state police and the Nelson County Sheriff's Department about the murder.

    I haven’t done my taxes yet.

    It’s April 10 and time is ticking down. But I’m not in panic mode yet. I still have a week and a day — that’s a lifetime. Since April 15 is on a Friday this year, the tax deadline has been extended until April 18. I’m not sure the reason behind the extension but I’ll take it.

    Monday night the Lebanon City Council and the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission made a compromise that, for now, has postponed the council's decision to eliminate the city's restaurant tax.

    The 5K is open to serious competitors, joggers, walkers and families. The 10K bike ride is just for fun but the scenery is great and the route meanders past the Lebanon National Cemetery.
