  • Tourism director resigns

    Nicky Reynolds came from Tennessee to become the executive director of the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission in February of last year. In April, she will be returning to the Volunteer State, where she will become the vice president of the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
    Her final day as the Lebanon tourism director will be April 12.
    Reynolds said she has always been career-oriented.

    Troy and Alison Cissell of Loretto announce the birth of a 2-pound, 4-ounce daughter, Carly Marie Cissell, born Dec. 6, 2012, at Nortons Hospital, Louisville. She arrived home Feb. 5 weighing four pounds and six ounces.
    Maternal grandparents are Jerry and Janice Bartley of Springfield. Paternal grandparents are Johnny and Linda Cissell of Loretto. Great-grandparents are George and Anna Louise Edelen.

    Mahala Elaine ‘Lainie’ Mattingly will celebrate her 5th birthday March 31, 2013. She is the daughter of Patrick A. and Amanda Gorin Mattingly. Grandparents are Maurice and Lois Gorin and Pat and Mahala Mattingly. Great-grandparents are Joe and Lib Hamilton, Marvelle Mattingly and the late Snooter Mattingly, the late Frances Robertson and the late Jr. and Hazel Gorin. She has one brother, Brett Mattingly.

    Jerry and Sandy Abel of Lebanon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Dawn Krenning, to Robert F. Hayes Jr., son of Robert and Diane Hayes of Lincolnton, N.C.
    The bride has a bachelor of arts from Oklahoma State University and is employed at ECTC in Springfield.
    Hayes is employed at TG Kentucky.
    The wedding is set for 5 p.m. April 13, 2013, at Bradfordsville Baptist Church.

  • Low-income families may apply for free home repairs

    Kentucky Heartland Outreach, a non-profit organization that specializes in  free home repairs for low-income families, is currently accepting applications for roofs, decks and wheelchair ramps, in Adair, Green, Marion and Taylor counties.
    Anyone that has a need for these or similar repairs are encouraged to apply. Call (270) 469-4949 or toll free 1-866-426-1186 to receive an application.
    The applications must be mailed or faxed to the KHO office by May 15, in order to be considered for summer assistance. Approved applicants will have work completed this summer.
