  • Passing of a Legend

I was saddened and shocked at the same time when I learned of the unexpected death of Joe Bell recently. I had gotten to know Bell through numerous past experiences and was proud to consider him a friend. Bell coached me at different levels of baseball throughout my youth, and I always enjoyed those times. I thought that I could pay tribute to Bell through my experiences with him. The players were split up into two teams as evenly as possible, one team named the All-Stars and the other being the Legends. The All-Stars ended up defeating the Legends by a final score of 12-11. Each player received a medal for participating in the game.

  • Let's talk lures

Last week, I lost a good friend and former co-worker. While Chief Joe Bell will be remembered for many things, I have a picture in my mind that sums up how I'll always remember him.

My image is of a Ford pickup truck... Lord knows it had to be a Ford! Filling the bed of the truck and hanging out every window is a Little League baseball player. His team... someone else's team... didn't matter!
