  • Indictments unsealed from recent drug round-up

    The indictments listed below were approved by the Marion County grand jury on Dec. 7. They were then sealed until Dec. 20, when the Lebanon State Police, the Appalachia High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Drug Task Force, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Lebanon Police Department rounded-up several individuals facing drug-related charges.
    The indictments below were presented to Marion Circuit Judge Dan Kelly. The indictments reported to Circuit Judge Allan Bertram will be reported as they become available.

  • Lebanon man indicted for burglary in Washington Co.

    Terrance S. Hazelwood, 31, of 229 Mock Avenue in Lebanon, was indicted for second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and theft by unlawful taking or disposition (Class A misdemeanor).
    According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred on or about Oct. 3 in Washington County.
    Bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000, as well as no contact with the victims.
    Hazelwood was indicted for the same charges in a separate indictment with the same bond.

    In their second holiday tournament of 2012, the Marion County High School Lady Knights basketball team traveled to Mount Sterling in Montgomery County to take part in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County High School. After playing in three games over three days, the Lady Knights came away victorious in each of their contests and brought home the championship trophy from the tournament.

  • Knights split four games during holiday break

    Recently, the Marion County High School Knights basketball team competed in the Campbellsville University Holiday Classic at Campbellsville High School. In the first game, the Knights took on the Shelby County Rockets. The game was close early on before the Knights slowly pulled away and came away with a 77-55 win.
    The teams battled early as neither team led by more than two points for the first five and half minutes of the game. Late in the first period, the Knights put together 6-2 spurt to grab an 18-12 lead as the first quarter closed out.

  • MCHS to honor 1993 state champions

    On Friday, Feb. 1, Marion County High School will hold “1993 night” to honor the 1993 boys basketball team’s state championship.
    According to Marion County High School Principal Stacey Hall, a ceremony will take place at halftime of the boys game against Taylor County.
    There will also be a mixer in the library for fans, team members and families.
