  • Erhardt joins Family Hair Center

     

    Suzie Erhardt of Greensburg recently joined the Family Hair Center at 3020 Hwy. 208 in Calvary. She will be accepting appointments and walk-ins Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. She specializes in cuts, perms, color, styling, up dos and full body wax.   • Mattingly attends professional development conference

     Stacy Mattingly, executive director of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, joined 55 representatives from local chambers across the commonwealth last week in Frankfort for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives spring conference, presented by Infintech.
    Professional development programs were offered on topics including relationship building, crisis management, retaining members, and engaging new members. In addition, the attendees participated in a time honored best practice session where they shared information on what their local chamber is doing.

    Faithful Citizenship luncheon
    “Charity and Citizenship:  What’s the Connection?” is the topic of the Faithful Citizenship luncheon to be held at noon May 17, 2011 in Flaget Hall at the Basilica of St Joseph Proto-Cathedral, 5th and W. Stephen Foster in Bardstown.
    The event is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Charities’ Parish Social Ministry Department and is free and open to the public. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch; drinks will be provided.

    Demetrice and Tiffany Logan of Springfield announce the birth of an 8-pound, 10-ounce son, Demetrice Lyndon Logan, born April 4, 2011, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Sandra L. Gribbins and Larry Wayne, both of Lebanon.
    Paternal grandparents are Nellie Logan of Lebanon and Billy Logan of Versailles.
    Great-grandmother is Margaret Grimes of Lebanon.
    Demetrice Lyndon has one brother, Qwaun, and eight sisters, Destiney, Shaylin, Aubrey, Megan, Trinity, Shamir, Shamica and Jerrica.

  • Thornton completes training

    Army National Guard Pvt. Thomas H. Thornton II has graduated from the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
    The course is designed to train the crew member in launch operations of various missiles and ammunition in quick strikes during combat. The student was trained to perform maintenance in various launchers and re-supply vehicles and reload ammunition on these type vehicles.
