  • House fire damages Spencer Hamilton Road property

     A house fire early Wednesday morning damaged a home at 385 Spencer Hamilton Road.

    The Lebanon Police Dispatch received a call at 4:36 a.m. Aug. 7 reporting a lot of smoke in the area of the fire. The Loretto and Raywick Fire Departments were dispatched.

    By 4:38, the Lebanon Police Dispatch received a report of fire visible through the roof of the house. 

    Loretto Fire Chief Tommy Hamilton said the rear of the house received extensive fire damage, and the rest of the house received water and smoke damage.

  • Lady Knights Basketball Head Coach Trent Milby verbally accepts job at Berea College

    Lady Knights Head Basketball Coach Trent Milby has verbally accepted a position with Berea College.

    According to Marion County Superintendent Taylora Schlosser, Milby has not officially signed a contract with Berea College and, therefore, hasn’t submitted a letter of resignation to the Marion County Public School distict.

    Milby said he doesn't want to make a comment about this until he signs a contract with Berea.

    TNT Fireworks reported the theft of an undetermined amount of fireworks worth approximately $4,000 from its location at 2136 Campbellsville Highway in Lebanon. On Aug. 2, the case was closed because the victim refused to cooperate, according to the Lebanon Police Department.

    The Bradfordsville Baptist Church will have their homecoming on Aug. 25, 2013. Former pastor Richard Reed will speak at 11 a.m. A potluck will follow at 12:30 p.m. Gospel singing, a hayride, bouncies and other activities will follow lunch.

    David Blackwell, dean of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, and Charles Moyer, dean of the  University of Louisville’s College of Business, announced the initiative last week at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Business Summit and Annual Meeting at the Louisville Marriott Downtown.
