  • Votaws gather July 29

    The annual Votaw reunion was held at Anderson Dean Park in Harrodsburg July 29, 2012. This year there were 56 people in attendance. The oldest person was Lola Cannon, 96, Harrodsburg; couple married the longest was Oliver and Snoda Votaw, 65 years, Campbellsville; traveling the farthest distance were Dusti Turney and Doug Hartman from Warren Robbins, Ga.; youngest person was Jacalynn Carter, 11 months old, daughter of Jennifer and Jonathan Carter, Harrodsburg; and the person with the largest group of immediate family in attendance was Mildred Baker with 17 people.

    John Arthur Elder IV of Lebanon made the dean’s list during the winter term at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is the son of Nancy and John Arthur Elder III of Lebanon.

    Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Pinkston of Springfield and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Abell of Calvary would like to announce the marriage of their children, Nicole Pinkston and Jamie (Whop) Abell on Sept. 15, 2012.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend a reception at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Centre Square in Lebanon.

    Homecoming at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 243 Logan Hill Road, Gravel Switch will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 9. Come and meet the new pastor, Jami Hamilton and his family. Pastor Mark Harrison will be leading the message. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

  • Committee is looking to crown a new ‘Hog Slopper”

    The 2012 Ham Days Committee is looking to crown a new “Hog Slopper”!  The annual Slop the Hogs competition will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 on the outdoor stage at the Centre Square Convention Complex.
    They are searching for participants to take part in the ham and biscuit eating contest; the winner will be awarded a trophy and a Ham Days breakfast ticket.
