    The Marion County High School junior varsity baseball team was scheduled to play at Anderson County tonight, April 15, but that game has been cancelled.

  • KSP investigating murder of 22-year-old

    No arrests have been made in connection with the death of a Loretto man who was killed Wednesday. However, the Kentucky State Police have spoken with the victim's girlfriend, and a Bardstown man has spoken with the state police and the Nelson County Sheriff's Department about the murder.

    I haven’t done my taxes yet.

    It’s April 10 and time is ticking down. But I’m not in panic mode yet. I still have a week and a day — that’s a lifetime. Since April 15 is on a Friday this year, the tax deadline has been extended until April 18. I’m not sure the reason behind the extension but I’ll take it.

The atmosphere is uplifting, knowing you are about to do something fun that is also wonderful for your health. The sense of accomplishment that you will feel at the end is amazing! And anyone can do it!

    Monday night the Lebanon City Council and the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission made a compromise that, for now, has postponed the council's decision to eliminate the city's restaurant tax.

  • Walk? Run? Bike? Heart of Kentucky Hike & Bike is Saturday

    Featuring a choice of 5K road race or 10K bike ride, the Heart of Kentucky Hike & Bike is designed to get everybody energized for spring this Saturday, April 16, in Lebanon.

    The 5K is open to serious competitors, joggers, walkers and families. The 10K bike ride is just for fun but the scenery is great and the route meanders past the Lebanon National Cemetery.

  • Knights lose to Bethlehem


    In their only game of the week, the Marion County Knights baseball team traveled to Bardstown to take on Bethlehem Thursday. The game would go back and forth throughout, with each side trading runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied at five, Bethlehem took advantage of two errors to grab the go ahead run and defeat the Knights by a score of 6-5.

  • State Champ

    Taura Miles is no typical teenager.
    Sure, she goes to school each day, but as most teenagers head home or ride around town, Miles travels to Bardstown, where she works out at the Fit Kids Sports Center for two to four hours each day. Miles is a gymnast, a level nine gymnast, that has been a state champion the past two years.  Level ten is the highest attainable rating by USA gymnastics, the governing body of gymnastic competitions. Last year, only 17 gymnasts in Kentucky were classified as either a level nine or ten gymnast.
