Kate Cobb started Girl Scouts late.
In fourth grade, many of her peers had already been scouts for several years. Now, a senior in high school, Cobb is the oldest and highest awarded scout in Marion County.
Cobb recently earned the Girl Scout Gold award, which represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. According to girlscouts.org, the award is only open to scouts who are in high school, and challenges the scouts to make a difference in the world.
