Early last month, just a few days into the 2013 Regular Session, Governor Beshear and numerous state legislators from both parties gathered in support of a major building initiative for many of our public four-year universities.
While most legislative sessions are often remembered for one or two major accomplishments, there are always other new laws that may not be as publicized but are important as well in their own right.
As you know, the General Assembly is in recess until Feb. 5, but during this time we are busy preparing for and attending committee meetings, reviewing bills, and meeting with constituents in our districts.
Hello and happy new year! As we start the new year, so starts a new session in Frankfort. The 2013 session of the Kentucky General Assembly is 30 days long and is known as the “short” session. During the first week (which started Jan. 8), both caucuses are traditionally busy choosing their respective leaders and making committee assignments.
