Although it is too soon to say what exactly will become law when the 2011 legislative session concludes next month, several major initiatives that the Kentucky House of Representatives would like to see on that list moved further down the road this past week.

That includes one of the chamber's - and Gov. Beshear's - top priorities this year: Keeping Medicaid from facing a catastrophic deficit in the months ahead.

Legislative committees were hard at work this week approving many bills that then moved to the Senate floor for consideration by the full body.

Kudos to you for the column on “Don’t be a litterbug, get your pets fixed” by Weny Doric. Kudos again for the letter submitted from the St. Francis community about dogs (pets in general) being shot. I believe there can never be enough articles written and published about abandoned and abused animals.
