To put it mildly, Lebanon tourist commissioners Dennis George and Dan Lawson have been having some issues.
No one is saying that people have to be golfing buddies just because they serve on the same commission, but the problem bubbled over into last week’s meeting of the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission.
To update a story from last week’s Lebanon Enterprise, donations for Bailey Basham, who has Osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease, should be sent to his mother, Adrienne Basham, at 9237 Loretto Road, Loretto Ky. 40037.
I want to commend the people of Marion County that helped make the Heart of Kentucky Youth Rally possible. The Fiscal Court for allowing us the opportunity of having the roadblock and the folks who gave. The tourism commission for being so helpful and their support. It was all about uplifting our Lord and Savior and sharing Him with others. God blessed us with an awesome weekend with amazing Christian music and the word of the Lord.
Now that the 2011 fair week is behind us, the Marion County Fair Board has been diligently accessing how this year’s fair was compared to previous years and how we can improve in the future. This year our attendance was down a little from previous years and expenses have increased, but local participation in some events was up. We didn’t do as well as we have in the past, but we look forward in our planning for next year’s fair.
