    The Wipeout was a household word for a few days in central Kentucky, so why was it cancelled, Aug. 16, just four days before it was scheduled?

  • For the record, not 'off' it

    I don't want to write this column, but I feel I must.

    An issue arose at last week's meeting of the Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission meeting. It's not an issue unique to the commission, but to my surprise it has come up more than once in the last few years.

    That issue: claiming that something is "off the record" at a public forum or public meeting.

    Walking into the high school gymnasium as a freshman was probably one of the scariest experiences of my entire life.

    Not because I was a "green" freshman or because I was a little fish in a bigger pond. Rather, it was terrifying for me because I was bullied.
