  • Letter: Support The Caring Place

Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for the generous support for The Caring Place shown by the communities of Lebanon, Springfield, and Bardstown. Your generous donations of money and gift certificates, volunteer support, and participation in the first annual Stick Horse-Egg and Spoon Derby was fantastic.

  • High water mark

"I'm still kicking ... It will get better as time goes by, but we won't ever forget it." - Hilda Perkins, flood victim

Hilda Perkins' words ring true for many people throughout Marion County who were impacted by the 2010 flood, which occurred the first weekend in May of 2010.

  • The Right to Know

    By Melissa Knight, Guest columnist

After reading the article, "Tourism changes in the works," which appeared in The Lebanon Enterprise on Wed., April 27, I feel compelled to respond with concerns I and many others I know have about what is happening politically with the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission (tourism).

  • The rookie has arrived

Webster needs to add a new word to next year's dictionary.

I've always heard that the arrival of a newborn brings sleep deprivation to a household.

Folks, sleep deprivation doesn't touch the state of mind I'm in.

In my farewell column in the Enterprise, I announced that my wife and I would soon be drafting a rookie.

After nine months of being extra nice to my wife (sorry honey, that was a limited warranty), the rookie has arrived.

  • Keep the ball rolling

Marion County citizens have waited for too long for enhanced 911, and it still may be years before E911 is in place.

But last week, we took one small step closer to the finish line.

On April 19, county and city officials met with representatives of MapSync and the Lincoln Trail Area Development District. MapSync and LTADD have been hired by the city and the county to complete the mapping and addressing that is necessary for the county to be eligible for E911.
