Some people say they signed the recallable nickel petition because they want the recallable nickel to be put on the ballot. But, the petition specifically states, “We, the undersigned citizens and qualified voters of Marion County, Kentucky… do hereby protest the passage of the resolution motion of the Marion County Board of Education on March 31, 2016, of the tax levy assessing an additional five cent equivalent rate per $100 of real property in Marion County.”
Public protest, public record

More than 1,500 Marion Countians allegedly signed a petition protesting the recallable nickel recently, and their names and addresses were published in The Lebanon Enterprise last week.
