An 800-year-old order and 200-year-old Washington County tradition will be celebrating its birthday with a concert at St. Catharine this month.
Sr. Clair McGowan said Mid-Kentucky Arts will perform a musical tribute to honor the 800th anniversary of the founding of The Dominican Order on Oct. 16.
“For me it’s amazing to be a part of something that’s 800 years old,” McGowan said. “800 years is a long time.”
The Marion County Lady Knights have now won more games this season than they did in the previous two seasons combined.
A 2-1 win against the Breckinridge County Lady Tigers (2-12) gave the Lady Knights (2-11-1) their second win of the season.
"It was good to get another win," Lady Knights Head Coach Daniel Johnson said. "We did many things well on offense and we were able to put people in different positions and played well."
Sometimes, an offensive lineman gets beat so badly by a defensive player that he has no choice but to commit a holding penalty in order to avoid a possible disastrous situation.
Now wait, a holding penalty is disastrous, you say! Your team is pushed back 10 yards, and now your team has to gain 10 more yards on top of the yards already needing to be gained. Yards are already hard enough to come by, and now it became a little harder.
