Rolling Fork Run returns June 9

Round four of the Rolling Fork Run will take place Sunday, June 9, at 4605 Hwy. 337 in Bradfordsville.
The event will feature ATV and motorcyle racing, starting with the pee wee race at 8:45 a.m. This is a 30-minute race.
The mini race will be held at 10 a.m. This is a one-hour race.
And the big bikes will race at noon in a two-hour race.
Trophies will be awarded to the top four finishers, and numerous sponsor class awards will be presented.
Admission is $10 and concessions will be available.

Baseball Knights earn awards

The Marion County Knights baseball team held its annual awards banquet Saturday, where several players were honored for their contributions both on and off the field.
Seven players earned Academic All-State honors, including Michael Costello, Joey Costello, Joe Ben Curtis, Brady Spalding, John Mike Mattingly, Robbie Spalding and Daniel Maupin. Knights receiving Academic All-State Honorable Mention included Justin Lark, Levi Haydon, Alex Gordon, Anthony Bradshaw and Jarad Bradshaw.

Fiscal court meets this afternoon

The Marion County Fiscal Court is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 6, on the second floor of the David R. Hourigan Government Building.

The agenda includes:

- Minutes of the previous meeting

- Second reading fo the 2012-13 budget ordinance

- Approval of second payment to Marion County Economic Development Office for the 2012-13 fiscal year

- Payment of NACo dues for 2013-14

- Contract with Marion County Board of Education for use of the shop building/21st Century learning center

Trailer fire under investigation for possible arson

A trailer fire Wednesday evening near the intersection of Clell Mattingly Road and Hwy. 527 is under investigation.

"We kind of suspected it was arson. It has been reported to the state police," Raywick Fire Chief Herman Riggs said.

The Lebanon Police Dispatch received a report of the fire at 8:16 p.m. June 5. The Raywick Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
