Stamper graduates

Hazard Community and Technical College held graduation on Saturday, May 11 at The Forum. Two ceremonies were held to accommodate the crowd. A total of 677 students received 1413 credentials; a total of 409 degrees were awarded along with 112 diplomas and 892 certificates.
The graduates included Kevin B. Stamper of Lebanon.

Kentucky State University and the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service will host an aquaculture field day and workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT May 16 at the KSU Center for Sustainability of Farms and Families. Lunch will be provided.

Clarkson to perform Saturday at Bradfordsville School

Phillip Clarkson will perform Saturday, May 11, at the Bradfordsville School and Community Center, 115 S. Sixth Street in Bradfordsville.
The performance is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Concessions including chili dogs and drinks will be sold during the performance.
Everyone is invited to attend, and proceeds from this performance will support the school building.

Marion County Superintendent Chuck Hamilton’s retirement announcement took me by total surprise last week as I sat, stunned, in the meeting room at the board of education following a mere two-minute executive session Thursday evening.
All I could do was shake my head in pure disbelief.
