Some feel park field fee isn’t...

The Lebanon City Council recently approved a recommendation from the park board to begin charging a $125 fee for teams to use its ball fields (not including Little League and schools teams) and some think its unfair.
Lebanon Mayor Gary Crenshaw reported to the council Monday, June 10, that he received a call from a representative on the Sluggers traveling team complaining about the fee.

All entities authorized to transact business in Kentucky are reminded they must file an annual report with the secretary of state’s office and pay a $15 filing fee no later than July 1.
The reminder comes from Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky’s chief business official, according to a state news release.

Athletics physical exams for $10...

Official Kentucky High School Athletic Association Physical exams for Marion County athletes in seventh through the 10th grades will be offered for only $10 on June 13. The exams are being offered by Marion County Community Education and KORT Physical Therapy.

Bocook earns degree

At Centre College’s Commencement ceremony on May 19, Ali Bocook of Gravel Switch received a B.A. degree in history and completed an internship with Boyle County Family Court. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
The College’s 190th Commencement saw the largest graduating class in Centre’s history. Martha Raddatz, ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent and moderator of the 2012 Vice Presidential Debate, was this year’s featured commencement speaker. She received an honorary doctor of humane letters from Centre during the ceremony.

Local students are awarded...

Michael Sandusky, Levi Haydon, Megan Lucas, Whitney Jo Smith and Courtney Flanagan, all seniors at Marion County High School, are recipients of a $500 college scholarship from Marion County Farm Bureau.  These awards are five of the 250 college scholarships worth a total of $337,300 the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation and individual county Farm Bureaus awarded this year to deserving students from across the Commonwealth.
