A new face has appeared on the Enterprise’s sports pages recently. Casey Sowers, a senior at Marion County High School, has started covering sports for the Enterprise. Former sports correspondent Nick Schrager recently accepted a reporter’s position at The Springfield Sun.
Rebecca S. Hubbard and Travis S. Calhoun of Lebanon announce the birth of an 8-pound, 10-ounce daughter, Paisley Sentell Hubbard, born Oct. 30, 2014 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
Maternal grandparents are Susan Hubbard and David Clarkson.
Paisley Sentell has a brother, Peyton Young.
The Marion County Fiscal Court approved two funding requests during its Dec. 4 meeting.
The court unanimously approved a total of $1,300 for Marion County High School volleyball player Shelby Goode. Goode is raising money to participate in the Down Under Sports Tournaments next summer in Australia.
Goode told the court that she needs to raise around $6,000, and she has raised about half of that money already.

I’ve always been a skeptic, but recently I’ve had the pleasure of spending several hours watching Santa Claus delight children at Dickens Christmas and meet and greet children on Main Street in Lebanon.
What I witnessed was truly magical.
Fit Kids gymnastics competed at the Shawn Johnson Holiday Classic at Broadbent arena over the weekend.
The Fit Kids Fusion All-Stars junior and senior teams competed Sunday at Jam Fest in Lexington. The junior team won first place and the senior team won third place and both squads won a bid to the U.S. nationals in Indianapolis in March.
Brady Spalding had a problem going to the bathroom during the summer.
During the five weeks he participated in the Governor's Scholars Program, he learned it can be gross relying solely on public restrooms for five weeks. That also got him thinking that there had to be a way to make public restrooms a little less disgusting.
Spalding and another senior, Matthew Newcome, decided to tackle this problem as their capstone project in Project Lead the Way, a pre-engineering program housed in the Marion County Area Technology Center.
