Auxiliary is fiscal court’s...

The Marion County Fiscal Court has a new partner in the Gravel Switch Fire Department Auxiliary/Advisory Council.
During its May 16 meeting, the court voted unanimously to designate the advisory council as its official liaison “on all matters dealing with the operation and recommendations concerning the needs of the Gravel Switch Fire Department from this point forward.”
Wayne Hollon is the head of the advisory committee. The other members are Larry Brussell, Jerry Burger, Gene Lanham, Joe Kent Shewmaker, Todd Simpson and Alton Tatum.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Hudgins III of Lebanon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shannon Nicole Hudgins to George David Rakes of Lebanon.
The wedding will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 5 p.m.

Keeping the coyote population...

I’m not one to advocate killing something just for the sake of killing. So when I say all coyotes should be shot, trapped or in some way eradicated it’s not just for the killing. It’s a matter of control!
This point was brought to my attention during our turkey season. On two occasions I came across a pile of turkey feathers and some body parts. Don’t know why the feathers and body parts were left since a coyote usually eats everything.

Knights baseball games cancelled

The Marion County Knights varsity baseball team was scheduled to play five games this past week. However, due to inclement weather and poor field conditions, no games were played.
The freshman team was able to play a game against Washington County Wednesday, May 8.

Calvary Elementary goes wild!

Kindergarten and first grade students at Calvary Elementary School performed "Wild Things - A Big Zoo Revue" recently.
 

Seniors’ Prom

Cedars of Lebanon hosted a prom Friday, May 10, for its residents and their guests. The event included a fashion show, music, and, of course, a little dancing.
