Slated for blacktopping
The State Highway Department is staking the St. Rose Road this week in preparation for the application of a blacktop surface extending a distance of 9.3 miles from the city limits of Lebanon to a junction with Hwy. 152 near St. Rose. The contract for the job is held by the Carey Construction Company of Lexington, which intends to send a crew here shortly.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Hudgins III of Lebanon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shannon Nicole Hudgins to George David Rakes of Lebanon.
The wedding will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 5 p.m.

Calvary Elementary goes wild!

Kindergarten and first grade students at Calvary Elementary School performed "Wild Things - A Big Zoo Revue" recently.
 

Truck drives into, damages...

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision involving a red Chevy truck and the Loretto Post Office.
The sheriff’s office received a report of the collision around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Lebanon Postmaster Tony Young, who is the administrative postmaster over the Loretto office, said he was told someone may have been “doing doughnuts” in the parking lot when they lost control of the vehicle and ran into the building.

Knights baseball games cancelled

The Marion County Knights varsity baseball team was scheduled to play five games this past week. However, due to inclement weather and poor field conditions, no games were played.
The freshman team was able to play a game against Washington County Wednesday, May 8.
