  • One plus one equals one

    By Gerard Flanagan

    Sports correspondent

The math geeks out there are probably cringing at this if they’re reading this. One plus one equals one!
While it doesn’t in the math world, if you’re in the sports world, one plus one does indeed equal one.

  • Don’t let the heat beat you

    By Bailey Foxworth

    Sports correspondent

When I woke up last Tuesday, I didn’t know exactly what the day would hold. I knew I’d have to go to practice, eat breakfast, go back to practice, eat lunch, go back to practice, take a nap and go back to practice again. Cross country preseason training only really consists of eating, sleeping and running.
But sometimes, things don’t always go according to schedule.

  • The joys of practice

    By Gerard Flanagan

    Sports correspondent

“Don’t practice until you get it right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.”

We talking about practice? Well, at least I am today.

  • Opening the door

Writing is my life. It’s my passion. It’s my future. It’s full of adventure.
When the publisher of The Lebanon Enterprise sent me an email asking if I was interested in a part-time position, I knew a great adventure was in store.
Now I have the pleasure of introducing myself as the Enterprise’s newest sports correspondent, and I couldn’t be more excited.

  • A new chapter begins

     By Gerard Flanagan

    Sports correspondent

As we begin once more to go about our daily lives and start a new week, change is around us. Change is bound to hit us all at some point, whether we go back to school from summer break or move into a new house. Or start a new job, like I’m doing.

  • Saying good-bye

    By Casey Sowers

    Sports correspondent

Well it’s been real, and it’s been fun, and it’s just been real fun working here for The Lebanon Enterprise the past seven months, and I hate to say goodbye.
As I move this weekend to Tennessee for school and soccer, I have to leave my job (sad face).
I have had the joy of working here, writing columns, taking pictures, and writing stories as well as traveling to different places for sports events.

  • Up and at 'em

    By Casey Sowers

    Sports correspondent

Everyone loves summer, but the rain seems to be a constant problem in this state this year, and when it’s not raining, it’s at least in the high 90s.
With this bipolar weather, there are chances you get to play outside or you don’t get to play outside.

  • Words of support

    By Casey Sowers

    Sports correspondent

Does anyone know the real meaning of encouragement?
I say this because everyone needs encouragement every day. The definition, according to Google, is the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope.
Now you’re probably wondering why I’m writing about encouragement since this is the sports section. I am getting to that.

  • Ladies leading the way

    By Casey Sowers

    Sports correspondent

If I ever had the chance to interview any player from the US Women’s National Soccer team I would probably freak all the way out because look how far they’ve gotten in the World Cup!
They get to play for the title, OUR women’s team is playing for the World Cup title. Yes, I purposely repeated myself because that is so exciting, and as a soccer fan, of course I’m going to be excited.

  • True All-Stars

    By Casey Sowers

    Sports correspondent

Well, it's been an eventful week for the girls All-Star teams.

I do want to congratulate both teams for the hard work they've been putting forth this season, from playing in the ridiculous humidity, to the pouring rain.
