You hear about wanting a “summer body” during the winter months quite a lot, and now that it’s summer, people are either working hard, or hardly working on that.
But don’t focus on the body.
Focus on feeling great, just being healthy and exercising.
I love it though. I love seeing people workout. Even if it’s just walking around the track at the park, people are getting in a good workout.

As a kid who used to play ball, championship week has not changed a single bit. It’s just as crazy as it was when I played. Kids screaming from the dugout, and the parents yelling and jumping in the stands.

It’s little league baseball, softball, and tee-ball season, and the park is full of it. Every night a crowd of fans supports the kids, which is great, so keep up the great work, fans!

Well, people of Marion County, school is officially over. What a relief! Now I wonder if some of the parents are relieved or if they’re freaking out because their child is going to be home all summer. I know I wrote a column about finals and the students moving up a grade and wishing them luck. Now I can officially say I am a Marion County High School graduate and you students are now a grade higher!

The past couple of weekends I’ve had the opportunity to attend the state tennis tournament and the state track meet, and other than state basketball, I had never been to a state event. It has been the most interesting experience for me, a good experience.

Eight days counting weekends, and six days not counting weekends, either of those sounds great to me. I hope everyone knows what I’m getting to. That’s right, school! School is almost out, and who couldn’t be more excited?

This may be a really strange column topic, which is perfectly okay, because it’s about food, and who doesn’t love food?

Lauren Hill was an inspirational young woman who recently passed away April 11. Hill had a rare brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). She had a brain tumor the size of a lemon growing inside her for more than a year, but she never let that stop her.
This will not be one of those sad stories you read. However it will hopefully touch a few hearts out there, maybe even more than a few.
