Columns

  • A good reason to be a fan

This year, we will again have the chance to witness a spectacle of human ability and achievement. It is equally a celebration of commitment and talent. The participants only have this opportunity once every four years, which adds to its significance.
Obviously, I'm not referring to the Presidential election. Instead, in a little over a month, the 2012 Olympic Summer Games will begin in London, England.

  • The week in sports

As I sit at my computer typing my column this week, I have a heavy heart. It's hard to think of something to write, so I chose to take a look back at last week in the sports world, coming up with two sporting events that I wanted to discuss.

  • Voices of the games

In the upcoming weeks of The Lebanon Enterprise, a group of individuals will be featured in stories highlighting their contributions to Marion County sports.  The contributions to each person's respective sport are something that most people take for granted. I know I have from time to time.

  • Sweet and sour

Well, as you can tell from the title, I have something good to write about this week and something I would rather not have to write about. Let's start with the good.

  • Back to Back

You may be wondering why I am writing again this week. Well, Jessica has a particular reason for wanting to write next week.  You'll just have to wait and see why, but in the meantime I will fill in.

  • Way to go

Well, another school year is in the books in Marion County. Several things happened recently that I believe are worth mentioning. Several athletes from Marion County High School put up some impressive feats, a team did something that has only happened twice before, and one athlete had an absolute monstrous week at the plate from the softball team.

  • Sometimes you can't pick just one

It was hard to narrow down just one topic this week for my column, so I decided to try to incorporate all three things that were on my mind.

  • Tennis, track turn in top showings

  • GR8NESS

Okay, so I know you see by the title of this column that I am going to write about the Kentucky Wildcats. Yes, it will be the last time I write about them, at least until next basketball season.
Last Monday night was a wonderful night for all fans of the Kentucky Wildcats.  The Cats brought home a national championship to Lexington, the eighth championship in school history, and the first one since 1998, the year I graduated high school.

  • Near death experience

Well, the big game is over.
With all the anticipation leading up to the game, I'm almost sad to see it be over. Of course, the game I am referring to was the battle of the Bluegrass between Kentucky and Louisville. As we all know, the Wildcats pulled out the eight-point victory much to the pleasure of most likely the biggest Kentucky fan I know, Bobby Joe Farmer.
